Detailed description

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club is a daily fee 36 golf facility located in Fort McDowell, Arizona. The facility has two, 18-hole golf courses. They are The Cholla Course and The Saguaro Course.

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club consists of the original 18 holes, The Cholla Course, designed by Scott Miller.

The second 18 holes, The Saguaro Course, was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. The Saguaro Course opened Saturday, December 16, 2006.

In addition to the two 18-hole courses, there is a large practice facility and a full service clubhouse. We-Ko-Pa Golf Club has been developed and is owned by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and is operated by EF Golf and OB Sports Golf Management.

Integrating design elements not commonly found in the desert, The Saguaro Course is built for walking and has more in common with older, more traditional courses where greens are close to tees and the course follows the natural movement of the land. To assist those choosing to walk the Saguaro course manual Speed Carts are available for use.

Tournament Tees: par-71, 6,966 yards, 72.4/138

Back Tees: par-71, 6,603 yards, 70.7/135

Middle Tees: par-71, 6,252 yards, 69.1/128

Composite Ladies Tees: par-71, 5,786 yards, 72.7/124

Forward Tees: par-71, 5,061 yards, 68.4/112

The courses are located just east of Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, Arizona and enjoy dramatic views of the Sonoran desert and the surrounding mountains.

Best course we ever played in the Phoenix area. No better fairways anywhere.

Stunningly beautiful area. Two 18 hole courses, both very different from each other. Moderately difficult. This course is top rated tie with Troon North for the best public course in Az. You must play both courses. Self powered golf carts are available for walking. Walking the Saguaro course is tougher as it is very hilly. Both courses do not accept afternoon tee times, as they close down every day to repair fairway divots and do course maintenace. Both courses are in exceptional shape. My foresome plays twice a week, year round and looks forward to the summer drop in rates. Our favorite by far.
