Detailed description

Gold Canyon Golf Resort -Dinosaur Mountain, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Gold Canyon, Arizona.

Located just outside Phoenix, Gold Canyon Golf Resort boasts two 18-hole championship golf courses: Dinosaur Mountain and The Sidewinder.

Dinosaur Mountain is consistently rated the #1 public golf course in Arizona. It is ready to offer you a truly unique golfing experience in the high Sonoran desert. Every tee box presents a panoramic vista and a challenge to your game. The course will take you up, over and around Dinosaur Mountain with dramatic tee-to-green elevation changes and long, loping fairways. The views of the nearby Superstition Mountains are spectacular.

Signature holes #4 and #5 are among the most memorable in the game! It's a scenic adventure and a golf experience that will bring you back.

Dinosaur Mountain Course can be difficult for the beginning to intermediate player. It is a par 70 and measures 6,584 yards from the back tees. Thr white tees play to 6,008 yards and the red tee boxes are set at 4,921 yards. The course is a target-style design. The small greens are fast, and the fairways are narrow

I have played over 160 courses in Arizona and this course is one of the top 2. Almost every hole is unique, challenging and picture worthy. Definitely target golf with a lot of risk/reward shots. The price is a little high during the winter so if you are on a budget you would want to play during the summer. A little bit of a drive from Phoenix/Glendale area but definitely worth it at least once per year. Ignore the Golf Magazine's recommendation of the top courses you can play. They always pick the same Scottsdale courses which are nice but don't have the character this one has. This course is more affordable than the Scottsdale courses and much more memorable.

Dinosaur Mountain is one of the best courses I have ever played - bar none. The layout, scenery, desert wildlife (I've seen javalina, deer, a gila monster, roadrunners, coyotes, quail, etc.) all make for one enjoyable round of golf. It can be a challenging layout - if you play from the 'wrong' tees. I've played this course about 5 times over the years and I'm never disappointed. I don't hesitate to recommend it as one of the best golf courses in the area.

Beautiful views, great holes playing up and down the mountain, course conditions are always superb. i have played many of the top, high dollar courses in the state of AZ and would rate Dinosaur as my #1 favorite.

Best course of my life, the highlight of 3 days, 5 rounds of golf. We flew from Ottawa Canada to play golf, and this was the absolute highlight.

The Gold Canyon Golf Resort is gorgeous resort and golf venue. The course is difficult but playable for most golfers. The Southwest Pass makes the price quite affordable during the summer season. In the winter, the rates are better suited for tourists who have spending on their mind.

Beautiful mountain views from almost all of the holes. Several elevated tee boxes make tee shots lots of fun - but can be tough to judge distance. If you hit it off the fairway - don't bother looking for your ball. The greens are usually very tough to hold unless you hit high shots or have lots of spin. Worth the money if you're visiting from out of town. Play in the heat of the summer to get a much better rate.
