Good course for County-run operation. The food quality and menu items are below average compared to other courses in area. A few tricky holes are either interesting or unfair depending whether you make it over the water. There is a lot of trouble, but only one hole that is somewhat hiding the extent of the water hazard.

Great course!!! I've been a member at this course for 6 years and I still find it very challenging. The layout is great and it's a precision course. Lots of ways to get in trouble on this course. Much better and harder then most course around the Sacramento area. Plus, it's usually cheaper, especially if you find a deal online that they always have.

My wife and I played this course and had a wonderful time. The course was in great shape, the staff was friendly, and the price was very reasonable. Yes, the course is challenging but not overbearing. Like just about any course, you will be penalized for bad shots. This does not make it a bad layout but you will get frustrated if you spray the ball all over the place. As I said before, my wife and I had a great time at Cherry Island and will definitely be coming back!

For a short hitter like me this is a good course. 180-200 yard lay ups to creek that runs through the course. All par 3's are short, under 180 yards.

To be fair, we played on July 3, so it was holiday pricing (30% more than normal Friday rate) & fully booked. However, we were the 3rd group off that morning. A really slow group was first off. We eventually saw a marshall on the back 9, but he did little to move things along. The groups immediately in front and back of us were also a little frustrated with the pace. Greens were in great shape...fairways had some patches of clover & crabgrass.

Every hole is either a dog leg or over a bridge, blind, etc....Took the driver out of my hands on most holes, even the par 5's. The par 4 10th hole was the biggest disappointment for me. Over 400 yards, but if you hit it more than 180 off the tee, look out! My ball was just left of the fairway and down into a ravine. I thought it was pretty safe with a 3 wood, but woe is me!! The best thing about the course was the greens. Held nice and rolled true. Walked away with an indifferent feeling about the experience.

Dog track. Unless you're a beginner, don't bother.
