Detailed description

Mt. Woodson Country Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Ramona, California.

The Mt. Woodson golf course first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by Lee E. Schmidt and Brian Curley.

Mt. Woodson golf course is one of San Diego County's most dramatic golf course settings. Mt. Woodson Golf Club is set among ancient oaks, huge granite boulders and sparkling lakes. The course is a true target-style design offering shot-making challenges.

Mt. Woodson Golf Club is set in San Diego North...in the hills and valleys of Ramona. Steep changes in elevation are captured in names such as Drop Off, The Chute, Razor's Edge, and The Plunge. To add to the experience, a 450-foot wooden bridge winds through the treetops and becomes a unique and thrilling addition to the Mount Woodson golf course experience.

A historic estate completed in 1921 is the centerpiece of this San Diego golf course property. This architectural treasure is considered one of the best examples of the "early California arts and crafts movement." Now affectionately know as the Mt. Woodson castle.

Mt. Woodson Golf Course plays to a par-70, and a distance of 6,004 yards.

This course is very short, less than 6000yds from the back tees. But don't be fooled, this can be a very penalizing golf course if you don't hit the target. Tight, but not ridiculous, it gives a player just enough hope, and rope to hang themself! A fun test for better players; higher handicaps will likely be frustrated and loose a LOT of golf balls.

A beautiful golf course. Love to take friends that are visiting me in San Diego. Terrific views and interesting holes. If you are hitting them straight you can score, if not bring extra balls. Lots of Risk and Reward shots that make you think about each shot. Highly recommend this course.

As SR player, I love the target golf holes. It is a lot fun to play a course where a person who drive the ball in the 180 to 190 range has a chance to reach most of the par 4's in 2.

Played this several times; good value, challenge and fun. Numerous tight shots needed which helps make it a place to play. "Sydney Opera House" boulders can be seen from several views: great.

I like the "target golf" holes that some complain about. The long drive guys cant find room and get into the woods. Ther's a lot of up and downs, an exciting cart bridge, great views. Only 3 par 5's Every time I play this course Ithink about what a visionary saomebody was to see and sell the possibility of a golf course on the side of the mountain.

A challenging jewel in San Diego. Award winning layout. Bring lots of balls and beware of rattlers and poison oak when you run out.

We had been hearing stories about this course for years from our country club members so we took an away trip to see. We were all blown away. What a GREAT course. Someone should rehab the old castle at the entrance into a B&B as this would be a deam destination resort.I have playes hundreds of courses and this is one of the best at any price.

One of the best courses in the San Diego area and horribly underrated. Tremendous course! The cart bridge from #3 to #4 has to be driven to be believed.

Always a challenge if you can't keep it in the fairway. It's target golf.
