Bella Collina Towne & Golf Club, previously named Pacific Golf & Country Club, is a Private, 27 hole golf course facility in San Clemente, California. Pacific Golf & Country Club has (3) 9-hole golf courses, Royal Lytham, Carnoustie, and Muirfield.
The course first opened for play in 1988. The courses were designed by Gary Player and Karl Litten.
The three nines, Carnoustie, Muirfield and Royal Lytham. These are the names of the courses where Gary Player won his three Open Championship titles. The names may be links style, but this course is not except for possibly the wind. Actually, the course could be described as Canyon style. Many holes will play severely uphill or downhill. There are few flat lies to be found.
The course sits on terrain that some would have thought impossible on which to place a golf course. The result, a tough course where there are par 5's of about 430 yards with no chance of reaching the green in two and 465-yard par 4's almost reachable with 5 wood.
