No houses, but corporate buildings abound. One cool aspect is that USAF jets will do fly-by approaches into Moffett Federal Airfield. Plus, it appears that they are removing the runway lights from the fairways on the back nine.

There was a fair amount of re-seeding taking place, else condition would have been rated higher. The affected areas were bad enough (and large enough) that I believe they should have been marked as GUR - they weren't. The course has a monthly unlimited play rate and this encourages solo walk-ons. The pro shop let some on before our group effectively delaying us; they absolutely should NOT do that! Otherwise it's a nice simple course with a few more challenges than most munis.

With no driving range its hard for me to get warmed up. Even short chipping before hand seems to help but no practice area. Fairways wide open and some interesting water holes. Price was very nice. Caught twi-light and mover well all day.

Course plays very differently depending on time of day. Wind can make the course difficult to score well. Though mornings are less windy, and thus a lessor challenge, the greens are in far better shape. If rough is watered, chipping can be very penalizing. Fairway and greens are a near requirement to play well. Use to shoot 6-9 over par on blues equal to 1-3 over at Pebble Beach - just because of difficulty on missed greens and bumpy rolls. I actually use Sunnyvale to prep for Pebble.

Cart price is high for one person riding alone. Should only have to pay for half a cart like some of the better places do.

With the greens and fairways in pretty good shape, this is a good value for the money, especially during the winter weekdays, when the course (usually) plays to a 4-4 1/2 hour round. The only drawback is the noise from Hwys. 101 and 237, but you get used to it.
