Detailed description

Village Links of Glen Ellyn is a public 27-hole golf facility located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. The facility has an 18-hole course (The Eighteen Hole Course) and a 9-hole course (The Nine Hole Course).

Village Links of Glen Ellyn's first Eighteen Hole Course opened for play in July 1967. The course was designed by David Gill. A third nine holes, dubbed the Link-Up Nine, was designed by David Gill and opened for play in July 1975. The Link-Up nine operated as a stand alone 9-hole course in 1975 and 1976, with an entrance on Lambert Road. In 1977 the Link-Up Nine was combined with the original back nine to form a new Village Links 18-hole course. The original front nine became the 9-hole course.

In 2003, the 18-hole course was renovated. Garrett Gill, son of the original architect, designed the changes, which included the reconstruction of the greens. The renovation also included a minor renumbering of the holes, resulting in a 7208 yard par 72 layout.

The Eighteen Hole Course is a championship course that once hosted a qualifying tournament for the U.S. Open, and has frequently hosted the Western Open.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,208 yards. From the foward tees the course plays to 5,439 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 574 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 159 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 4, a 465 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Village Links of Glen Ellyn's Eighteen Hole Course is # 11, a 197 yard par-3.

overpriced goat ranch. fairways needed to be cut. rough was like u.s. open. greens were slow and bunkers had little sand. stay away, there are way better courses nearby.

This is the only course I have ever palyed that allows you to stop play on ANY hole and get a pro-rata refund credit, i.e. if you play 12 holes, you get a 1/3rd credit. Convenient for those few times when you have to cut a game short for some reason.
