A real beautiful course with fast greens. Should be interesting with the new 7,8,9 hole changes, 9 will be on the beach. You can't get much better views.

I don't understand why vacationing "hackers" would pay that kind of money to flog a couple dozen balls around some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable. Late winter weather kept the course from being pristine, but still a magnificent environment. Beautiful 80-degree weather with a gentle breeze off the lake, made it a terrific experience. The only downside was the pace-of-play of the aforementioned 30+ handicappers.

This is the 3rd time I've played the course in 30 years. It is a beautiful course, a good and fair challenge with decent risk/reward choices. The carts have GPS and green maps but it still helps to have a bit of local knowledge. Lots of goose droppings on a couple of holes. Afternoon wind can make the 16th and 17th real testers but thats golf. Not all the teeboxes are flat but the grounds and grass are well kept. First cut of rough isn't bad, 2nd cut - don't hope for a miracle shot, just get it in play with some advancement and move on. Traps are pretty fluffy and about an inch of sand so a full shot doesn't ring your chimes with bounce off the bottom.

Cost on Local's Day is $50, which is a bargain. Normal cost of $200-$220 puts it out of reach for everyonebut the high rollers who visit Tahoe. It's a great one-time experience.
