Quail Ridge Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Sanford, North Carolina.

Quail Ridge is an Ellis Maples designed championship golf course located in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, a short drive from the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham and Chapel Hill) and Pinehurst. The course opened for play in 1967. The course closed in 2016 and reopened in October 2017 after major renovations (the first such renovations since the course originally opened in 1967).

The course is built on the highest piece of land in Lee County, which gives each hole rolling terrain and a view all its own.

The large bent-grass greens are elevated and protected by large bunkers while allowing bump and run shots into the open fronts of the greens.

The length of the course allows the scratch golfer to be tested from the Quail tees at 6,875 yards, while the higher-handicap golfers are provided a challenge from the front tees at 5,280 yards.

The white tees measure 6,295 yards and the gold tees measure 5,562 yards.

Practice facilities include a driving range and putting green.

A $40 weekday senior rate is too much for this course. We can play closer to home for $10 to $15 less. Naturally, weekend rates are higher than that. They do have a "loyalty" card you can purchase for $30. That allows you to play anytime, 7 days a week, for a senior rate of $30. This only applies to residents of counties bordering Moore County. Not sure, but I think the non-senior rate is $5 more. Fairways were overseeded, which was definitely a plus compared to anyplace else we play at this time of the year. Owner has spent a considerable amount over the last couple of years rebuilding this golf course, including new greens, parking lot and renovating the pro shop and snack area. However, cart paths seem to be a never-ending challenge attempting to keep them graded. Sometimes they are washed out and not usable. Areas off the fairways are poor. Consequently, I would not vote for this course being a vacation destination, yet|!!!

Nice layout, nice people. Course is in poor condition, Fun to play, and inexpensive. If you just want a place to go play, give it a shot. Not up to Pinehurst Village standards, nor Price.
