Detailed description

Dayton Country Club is a private, 18-hole golf course located in Dayton, Ohio.

Dayton Country Club first opened for play in 1897. The course was originally designed by Donald Ross and revisited by Scottish architect, Tom Cornish.

Dayton Country Club is a challenging course with a traditional layout. The terrain of the golf course is very hilly, causing many uneven lies. The fairways are quite narrow and tree-lined, making straight tee shots a priority. The large, undulating greens are very fast and well protected by bunkers. There are also water hazards that come into play on eleven holes.

The back tees play to a par of 71, measuring 6,285 yards. The course rating is 71.6 and the slope rating is 131.

Excellent golf course. Given the short yardage is plays much longer given the terrain features ..

Plenty of beverages, as Judge Smails and his foot wedge take forever. A great deal of folks born pre Donald Ross designing the course. Old foursomes make for a peach of a day.
