I was born and raised in Venice (FL), a small gulf coast beach town between Tampa and Naples. Growing up in a sports family, I played baseball, basketball, and football. It wasn’t until I reached high school that I was introduced to the game of golf. Like many others, I quickly developed the “golf bug” and spent almost all my free time working to improve my game. While working in the outside operations department at The Oaks Club in Sarasota (FL), Tim Beckwith, the Director of Golf, invited me to work inside the golf shop. I became an assistant professional and my career in the golf industry began. Shortly after, I joined the PGA of America and began working towards my Class “A” membership. Since then, I’ve worked at some world class golf & country clubs, including The Oaks Club (FL), South Fork Country Club (NY), The Concession Golf Club (FL), Richmond County Country Club (NY), and Lake Naomi Club (PA). Not only have I been lucky to work at some award winning facilities, I’ve also been able to work along side some of the best golf professionals in the business. Tim Beckwith, Master PGA Professional, has been recently awarded the PGA National Horton Smith Award posthumously for his work mentoring young professionals. Tim Garvin at South Fork Country Club has over 35 years of experience in the business and has also been a Head Professional at Admirals Cove (FL) and Southampton Golf Club (NY). Dan Terlescki is now at Old Palm Golf Club (FL) and was previously the Head Professional at Champions Retreat (GA) and The Concession Golf Club (FL). Director of Golf, Caleb Blodgett, has been at Richmond County Country Club (NY) for 10 years and Wampanoag County Club (CT) prior to that. Along the journey, I married my wife, Katherine, and we have two boys, Kai (10) and Callum (8). Kate is a good player in her own right. She played for the Scottish National Team as a rising junior and received a full golf scholarship to play at High Point University (NC). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family on and off the golf course and watching sports as a huge Buffalo Bills and Chicago Cubs fan. Being a PGA Professional has given me the opportunity to meet special people, travel to beautiful places, and have experiences I would’ve never had the chance to do. I look forward to continuing my career in the golf industry, growing both personally and professionally while helping younger golf professionals grow their own careers.
